N.S. Yachting is recognised by the RYA as a training centre to teach all RYA
practical sailing courses. From beginner to the more experienced, we aim to improve your skills in a relaxed and enjoyable
atmosphere. We teach one to one, family and small groups, beginners to Yachtmaster Offshore. Our yacht is based at Largs
Yacht Haven on Scotland's West coast with some of the best sailing areas to be found in the UK.
RYA Practical Sailing Courses
N.S. Yachting provides the full range of RYA Practical Courses. For beginners the RYA Start Yachting
weekend offers a safe and enjoyable introduction to sailing and all things nautical.
To become a useful crew member the RYA Competent Crew Course can be taken over 5 days or 3 weekends.
As your experience and confidence builds, or if you already have some sailing experience, you will
be ready for the RYA Day Skipper Course. Again this course can be taken over 5 days or 3 weekends. This course aims to bring
you to the standard required to skipper a cruising yacht by day in tidal waters.
All the above courses can be tailored to your needs and same sex courses can be arranged.
For the more experienced we offer the 5 day RYA Coastal Skipper Course which aims to bring you to the
standard required to skipper a cruising yacht on coastal and offshore passages by day and night.
Exam preparation is also offered for those who wish achieve the RYA Coastal Skipper or Yachtmaster
Offshore certificate of competency. The course is taken over 5 days followed by an assessment by an independant RYA examiner.
